  Tragedy struck in Osun on Wednesday with the killing of two party loyalists during fracas involving supporters of the All Progressive Congress and that of the Peoples Democratic Party within the Osun West senatorial district. The Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has strongly condemned the reign of violence visited on members of the party by hoodlums sponsored by the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ikire, Irewole local government area, warning that the PDP will resist any attempt by the erstwhile ruling party in the state to throw Osun in chaos. The PDP in a statement signed by its Caretaker Chairman, Dr Akindele Adekunle on Wednesday, described as ugly and unacceptable the resort to violence as a tool to pursue power in a democrary, vowing to take every legal steps to get justice for member of the party murdered by the APC thugs. The Ward to Ward Campaign train of the Osun West Senatorial Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party - PDP was attacked today while returning from visitation to members of the party at the Ward 1, 7, 8 and 9 Ikire Township area of Irewole Local Government by APC sponsored thugs led by their House of Assembly candidate Bisi Oyegbade Ilu, this evening at Olorisaoko, ikire. The attack led to injuries of several members of Pdp.  As at the time of this press statement, two of our supporter's are in critical condition in an undisclosed hospital while those injured are been treated.
