Topic: Eating Habit (1Corinthian 10:31)


Eating habit are conscious, collective and repetitive behaviour. Eating Habit refer to socio and cultural influences.

Eating Habit is what we do consciously and become part and custom of us. Our eating Habit can be either good or bad. But everything we choose to follow have consequences


*You can still change your eating habit if it is unhealthy _(Require gradual process)_


Approaches to Changing Eating Habit

These 3R will help, ,_3R such as:_


*Reflect*- Examine your Eating Habit and know which one is wrong, note it down.


*Replace*: Try to replace the bad habit already noted with good and healthy one


*Reinforced:* Try to build more on your new way of Eating behaviour


Some Eating Habit that can help You

*Eat adequate and balanced food that contain series of Food Classes.

E.g. Vegetable with locust beans in addition with pounded yam

*Form the habit of eating fruit (Rainbow Food)

*Eating amount of proper calories per day (Too much of carbohydrate is not too healthy for the body)

*Limit your sugar intake

*Drink adequate water (Water is very essential for refreshment)

*Reduce the intake of some process drink but encourage the intake of some natural fruit such as Soyamilk, Zobo 

*Eating small quantity of meal frequently is better than Eating larger food thrice in a day.

*Try new healthy food

*Eat slowly, Don't rush when eating (prioritize eating)

* Find better way of managing your stress rather than eating (Eating is not a coverup mechanism)

*Prepare your meal by yourself, Reduce eating outside

*Don't starve yourself but it is good to fast

*Use smaller plate it will help you in taking smaller quantity

*Make room for extra, but properly preserve the left over

*practice Active lifestyle full of exercise


Bad eating habit


*Eating faster

*Eating of excessive fried  substances

* Eating indomie without adding any complementary substance to it

* Eating too much salty and spicy food

* Eating when not hungry

*Talking when eating


Type of Eaters

Fuel Eating* - eating to nourish our body, to strengthen us, for sustainability (This is what we need most)


2. *Fun Eating*- this is wrong because eating when not feeling hungry is bad. 


3. *Fog Eating* - Eating without any reason or purpose 


4 *Stump Eating* - Eating without control 


Type of Eaters

1.Emotional Eaters - Eating anything when they are stressed up, bad situation or cover up for any incidence that occur


2. *Unconscious Eater*- They keep Eating in as much food is available.


3.Habitual eater- They eat  the same food every time


4Critical - They know every joint and cafeteria and they will want to analyze the joint


5. Sensual: They try new food


6. Energy eater- To gain energy and strength to work and for sustainability


*Do everything as to the glory of God*
